Our network

A network
dedicated to businesses
The only operator to offer 100% fibre and mobile technologies on a network exclusively dedicated to businesses, Covage has the widest proprietary fibre coverage for a B2B operator. With 60,000 km of fibre (including 18,000 km of local loop), the Covage network can reach more than 13,500 towns in all areas of France, from cities to the most rural areas.
Our technology
Dedicated to business traffic, our network is based on a redundant and secure architecture available throughout France. With more than 1,500 points of presence, our network allows us to collect business flows as locally as possible to guarantee the best quality of service and thus significantly reduce the latency of your services.
Our FTTH backhaul network, exclusively dedicated to B2B, offers companies and local authorities maximum speed, which remains stable over time because Covage does not share its customers’ traffic with that of the general public.

The strengths of Covage’s network
Covage now operates its fibre network throughout the country through a strong local presence.
Covage’s network provides:
- Multi-tech cover: FTTO, FTTE, FTTH (GPON and XGSPON) and mobile (4G, 5G)
- Unique local coverage: 60,000 km of fibre
- 150 secure POP IPs across mainland France
- 1,500 unbundled NRO/NRA
- Backhaul of 6 infra networks: Altitude Infra, Orange and SFR (ZTD, AMII zones), Orange Concessions, TDF, Axione to address all of their PINs
- Express backbone of 400 Gbps, with the option of adding 100 Gbps delivery ports in each of the administrative regions.
- Option to collect all technologies on shared ports
- 1.6 million eligible businesses (with 1 or more employees)
- 13,500 towns covered in more than 476 conurbations, making it uniquely positioned in the wholesale market
- 75% businesses are eligible in France (+400,000 additional businesses in 2023, +30% vs 2022)
Our approach
Covage has a unique position in the market.
Being the third largest infrastructure operator on the business market in France, Covage:
- Carries out its own deployments
- Develops its own infrastructure
- Uses PSDs while continuing to grow its own network
Our high investment capacity thus enables us to grow and increase the capacity of our network, without affecting its quality. For businesses, the benefits are twofold: they are guaranteed a high-performance network tailored to their needs and the very best quality of service.
The resilience of Covage’s network
In 2023, Covage launched a three-year plan to improve and secure its network. Now, all our attention is focused on the resilience of this network, to make it more efficient and ensure that it can cope with the increases in traffic that are coming. This work on resilience is based on several themes:
The risk mapping study
Whether they are climatic, cyber or even vandalism, in order to be able to anticipate the evolution of future risks.
Securing the POPs for pendular traffic
Identification and securing of risk areas through projects to secure the relevant backbone connections, with a doubling of links to reduce the number of unsecured POPs for pendular traffic and thus reduce the impact and duration of outages in the event of an incident.
Simplifying backbone architectures to improve performance:
- National loop: re-deploying express routes to ensure that traffic is less exposed to latency and impacts in the event of an incident.
- Opening of regional backhauls to enable our customers to collect their clients’ traffic directly at the main regional POPs.
- Local loop: redesign of the network to make it more direct and efficient, in particular via a star formation to limit the dependence of the various NRO on each other.
The capacity upgrade and redesign of our backbone loops,
to enable us to absorb more traffic from our clients.
Our expertise
A specialist in the deployment and operation of optical fibre since 2006, Covage has developed a high level of in-house expertise in network design, development and operation.
All network expertise assignments are carried out by our in-house experts to provide you with the best possible service.
Furthermore, our 20 local branches throughout the country enable us to offer you a local service and a human point of contact from start to finish of the migration; our teams can intervene in less than 2 hours, wherever you are, to limit the impact of an incident.
